Surprise surprise I’m back with another LUSH review. In this post I’m going tell you my opinions and favourites from the majority of the Easter 2017 Collection. I must say that aside from the Christmas collection that this range is my favourite from Lush! Everything that I received from this collection smells AMAZING and some may disagree but I firmly stand by that statement. If you want to find out more info then be sure to keep reading.
The EASTER COLLECTION will be available in stores and online now until the 17th of April 2017.
GOLDEN EGG BATH BOMB MELT $8.50
This product is half bath bomb, half melt and it smells heavenly! It’s the same scent as ‘Shoot For The Stars’ bath bomb from the Christmas collection and Honey I Washed The Kids soap. The scent of this product is a very relaxing toffee type smell and when in the bath the melt leaves your skin feeling unbelievable moisturised and silky smooth. Because this product is half a bath bomb and half a melt made out of cocoa butter and other moisturising ingredients you need to make sure you have the bath hot when using this product so it actually does “melt” in the bath.
Your bath will be FULL of glitter when and after using this but not to worry it’s bio-degradable gold lustre so it won’t be staining your tub or you! It was so hard to photograph this bath bomb melt in action but it reminded me of The Refresher shower jelly; yellow/gold, shiny and reflective.
I had seen such a hype about this product online but I feel as though the other products in this collection deserved the hype more.
This is one of LUSH’s more expensive bath bombs but when you see the size of it you’ll understand why. This big boy is huge it’s almost the size of 2 bath bombs in one. Not only is this bath bomb big its also super cute and can be used over 2 baths! Some have said you could use it over 3, but honestly if you’re going to spilt it I would do it in twos; the top half of the chick and middle in one bath and the bottom blue half in another. I used it all together to get the full experience and it was a super fast fizzer and left my bath a somewhat fluro green colour that looked just like lime cordial. The top half of the chick has vegan dark chocolate bits as the eyes, which is a very cute idea but does leave a brown ring of residue around your bath. It isn't a big deal you can easily wipe it down, it's just worth noting.
I loved the smell of this bath bomb but I just can’t describe it, the ingredients lists Bergamot oil and Tonka absolute. I don’t know if its a mixture of the two or just the Tonka absolute but I am obsessed with the smell of this. I think the bottom blue half of this bath bomb would produce a lovely coloured if used on its own! It’s also the bigger half of the chick so it would definitely be enough to fill a bath.
These bubble bars are the best bang for your buck! You get 3 carrots; a pink, purple and orange one. You can get at least 3 bubble baths out of this product but you could easily get 6 by cutting them all in half. I’ve recently gotten my niece obsessed with using bubbles in her bath and she loves going through my lush collection so these bubble bars are just for her and she loves them. If you have a small child in your family that loves to go through your lush collection too, I think this is a great product from them. It has a neutral but nice smell, each is a different colour so it produces different coloured baths for the child and honestly its a cute as heck. I’m shocked that these bubble bars aren’t more expensive, it’s such great value and they are probably the cutest products out of the Easter collection. I’m in love with how they mimic real carrots. The only downside about this product was my orange carrot came a bit wet like there was too much oil added or something. Again, not a big deal, it didn’t affect the use it was just worth noting. The smell of these carrots are a lot more subtle than the other products but it still matches the collection.
If you're new to Lush you should know that you don't just chuck this product in the bath as you would a bath bomb. Instead you run the bubble bar under the water (I do so in a sieve as shown above) or swish it around in the tub but I find a sieve does work best.
I suck at reviewing soap because, well… It’s soap? If it cleans you, it does the job. And let me tell you, it does the job. But enough of being coy, unlike other soap it smells good enough to eat! Its a smell that's in-between fresh and sweet which I guess is because it has lemon and vanilla oils in it. This soap kind of reminds me of the ‘Thanks Dad’ soap from the Fathers Day collection but that was along time ago and my 'scent memory' probably doesn’t go that far back so don’t quote me on that.
My first thoughts when opening this lip scrub was “wow”, as you get a really strong aroma of orange chocolate — much like ‘Terry’s Chocolate Orange’ and it also tastes just like that too! Albeit I haven’t had one of those chocolate oranges in years but when smelling and using this lip scrub it brought back those memories. I find that the lip scrubs from LUSH that contain jojoba oil in them are the most moisturising and do the best job at buffing your dry lips and that is one of the main ingredients in this scrub, as well as dark chocolate! At the start I wasn’t a huge fan of this scrub but it very quickly grew on me and is now my second favourite, the first being my beloved ‘Santa Baby’ lip scrub.
While on the subject, I need to do a quick shout out to Nani (who works at lush, in the lip scrubs department I’m assuming), she has made every single lip scrub I’ve gotten and she packs them full to the brim each time!
I had a great time reviewing this collection because as we all know, I love Lush! If you’re thinking about picking up some of these goodies in store or online then I recommend the Chocolate lip scrub, Chick ’N’ Mix bath bomb, Which Came First bath bomb and Bunch Of Carrots bubble bar! They're my favourites from this collection.
